Volcom, Inc. is in search of an experienced HR Generalist to begin immediately. This person will be the Human Resources point person for our Retail and Retail Outlet stores and act as the Benefits Specialist for all companies.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Retail/Retail Outlets HR Contact:
  • Will be responsible for all employee relations for the stores (including HQ store) and work closely with the retail management team for all decisions made
  • Process all new hire and termination paperwork to maintain compliance (including cutting final checks in payroll)
  • Act as the point person for all retail work-related injuries
  • Manage the annual employee review process
  • Assist in new store set-up with Corporate Retail team; research and implement state compliance for all states Volcom has operations
  • Process all EDD paperwork as needed
  • Maintain EDD quarterly reporting and wage reporting
  • Travel to stores and attend retail meetings as necessary
Benefits Specialist:
  • Manage all aspects of Volcom and Electric’s benefits (medical, dental, vision, Life/ADD/Long-term Disability, Voluntary Life, HSA, 401(k) and FSA)
  • Act as the point person for all employee inquiries, working closely with our brokers
  • Overview employee benefit packages and answer questions for all new hires; enter benefits information into systems as well as payroll for deductions (medical, dental, vision, FSA, life insurance and 401(k)). Also responsible for the termination of benefits.
  • Manage the annual Open Enrollment process - working closely with our brokers
  • Manage all benefits contributions to ensure accuracy
  • Act as point person for Volcom’s and Electric’s 401(k) plans (new enrollments, terminations, rollovers, loans, changes, etc.)
  • Attend quarterly 401(k) committee meetings
  • Keep up to date on all Health Care Reform information and implement updates as needed
  • Organize monthly Wellness Committee meetings and quarterly events
  • Assist with other HR duties and special projects as needed
Desired Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 3+ years of HR experience required, preferably with Retail HR or Benefits experience
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills a plus
  • Excellent computer skills in the MS Office suite
  • ADP payroll processing experience a plus
  • Excellent communication skills a must
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
