The Human Resources Generalist administers assigned human resources programs, policies and services throughout the organization. They provide guidance to managers and employees regarding applicable HR processes and procedures and utilize HR expertise regarding recruiting, corrective action, Equal Employment Opportunity, employee relations, and special projects.

Qualifications sought in successful candidates include:
  • Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of HR administration, effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to interface with all employee classifications in a professional manner
  • Knowledge of employment laws and employee relation techniques
  • Advanced knowledge of government compliance regulations and reporting
  • Ability to maintain strict confidential information
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Knowledgeable in various HR database systems

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Respond to and perform a variety of functions including:
  • Administers various human resources plans and procedures for all company employees; assists in development and implementation of HR policies and procedures; prepares and maintains employee handbook and policies and procedures manual
  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems
  • Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 report annually; maintains other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations
  • Handles employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling, and exit interviewing
  • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars, as needed
  • Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed
  • Maintains Human Resource Information System records and compiles reports from database
  • Other duties as assigned

  • College degree preferred, but not required. Any equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5 + years of HR experience at the corporate level
  • PHR / SPHR Certification is preferred

This position requires the ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities in the following environment:
  • Use of a PC, fax, computer terminal and/or telephone up to 8 hours a day
  • Open workspace office environment
