(2) Regular, Full-Time, Non-Civil Service positions with the Human Resources Department, Research Corporation of the University of Hawaii (RCUH) core staff located in Honolulu, Hawaii. Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable Federal/State laws.


DUTIES: This is a progression job beginning with an entry level (Level I) that is responsible for providing staff support in various human resources management/HRMS assignments such as (but not limited to) employment, employee benefits, HRMS, workers compensation, job classification, job descriptions, compensation, recruitment, etc. Progression will be based on an incumbent’s demonstrated ability to meet satisfactory work standards and the ability to assume increased responsibilities and accountabilities.

PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university, prefer degree in Human Resources Management or in Business Administration. (Bachelor’s Degree with 1-3 years applicable work experience in a human resources department for a large corporation may substitute for degree in Human Resources). EXPERIENCE: This classification is used as an Entry and Progression classification. It will assume the incumbent to start at Level I (unless there is justified experience to begin at Level II). Progression will be based upon incumbent’s satisfactory work performance and demonstrated ability to handle progressively responsible assignments in personnel/human resources management. Level I: 0-1 year experience. ABIL/KNOW/SKILLS: Knowledge of human resources management principles and concepts. Incumbent must possess basic skills in human resources administration, and some basic computer skills to work with automated human resources management systems. Requires an ability to work independently on assignments. Good verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel applications, email, internet, and general abilities to use data base software. Post Offer/Employment Condition: Must be able to pass a post offer criminal background check.

SECONDARY QUALIFICATIONS: Previous working experience with HRMS system (i.e., PeopleSoft) or other specialized Human Resources Management and/or information systems. Working knowledge and experience of EEO and Affirmative Action Programs; labor laws; UH and RCUH policies and procedures.
