Under general supervision of the HR Director, the Employment Relations and HR Compliance Manager manages the real-time operations of the employment relations, investigations, and employment compliance functions in a hands-on role.
This position is directly responsible for the employee relations protocols, procedures and functions. S/he will develop, implement, and maintain manual and automated systems. S/he is responsible for all involuntary terminations including RIF. S/he will be responsible for all investigations, the development and administration of HR compliance including policies and procedures, responding to all governmental administered complaints (i.e. EEOC, DEFH), HR compliance training, preliminary legal work and preparation, and research of employment law.
Performs all employee relations actions and investigate in a through and timely manner. He/she will have experience with workplace violence investigations. Develop and administer policies and procedures. Interact with representatives and handle legal complaints from a variety of companies and agencies.
Requirements -
' A Bachelor of Arts/Science (B.A./B.S.) degree in Human Resources, Business or related field

' Minimum ten (10) years of progressively responsible related experience in employee relations and HR compliance administration and analyses

' Five (5) years of experience performing employee relations functions including responding to legal correspondence, DFEH, and EEOC inquiries

' Minimum five (5) years of management and/or supervisory experience
‘ Has had experience working/investigating workplace violence

' Strong knowledge and proficiency in HR laws, rules, regulations, guidelines, policies, and procedures (i.e. federal, state, county and local)

' Strong knowledge of current labor codes and laws

' Ability to maintain highest levels of confidentiality

' Excellent in-person, phone, and electronic based interpersonal skills

' Excellent verbal and written communication skills

' Advanced knowledge of HRIS, Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook (MS Access preferred)

' Excellent business and negotiation, sales, presentation and training skills.

' Excellent file management and auditing skills

' Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within human resources

' Ability to promote and maintain favorable working relationships and promote customer satisfaction

' Must be able to travel to remote sites and work at those sites on an as needed basis

' Possess a professional demeanor, poise under pressure with strong attention to detail, and well-developed time management skills

' Must be able to work in a fast-paced, pressured work environment

' Ability to work in a diverse and challenged workforce

Preferred Qualifications

' Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Human Resources or related field

' Certified Mediator

' Certified in Lawful Investigations
