Leads all site Health, Safety, Environmental and Security (HSES) programs to assure employee well-being, regulatory compliance and support of corporate objectives:
Ensure compliance with all Federal, State and local regulations and policies and position the plant to readily meet future requirements; thus maintaining the plant’s privilege to operate.
Implement the Corporation HSES Guidelines and site procedures to ensure our employees, contractors and visitors enjoy high levels of safety, health and environmental protection; thus reducing our liability exposure and preserving our privilege to operate. This will include Responsible Care initiatives, ISO/RC 14001, and the Behavior Based Safety Process.
Coordinate recordkeeping, and reporting. Manage execution of safety audits, inspections, design reviews and incident investigations.
Coordinate and perform training in various areas of HSE.
Manage the environmental programs for the site, including hazardous waste management.
Manage the aspects of site programs such as; industrial hygiene, machine guarding, Lockout/Tagout, electrical safety, emergency response, and other HSE elements.
Coordinate site tracking of metrics and key performance indicators, recordkeeping, and reporting.
Manage and participate in the execution of safety audits, walk through inspections and design reviews.
Perform incident investigations to find causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Manage compliance and meet all necessary regulatory reporting requirements for applicable areas of RCRA, TSCA, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and other compliance programs.
B.S degree in occupational safety and health, or equivalent education.
Experience managing or working in a role involving responsibilities for occupational safety programs principles, recordkeeping and reporting.
Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels within the company and community.
Strong interpersonal skills
Skilled with computer software applications including Excel, Word, and Power Point
5-10 years direct experience in HSE
Experience in reserch and development laboratory is a plus
Certification in HSES field desired
Capable to develop and deliver regulatory training in a field and/or classroom setting
Able to travel up to approximately 20% of time.
