The Office of Buildings & Grounds is seeking a Manager for our HVAC & Plumbing department. The Manager will be responsible for supervising a team of ten plumbers/ HVAC technicians in all areas of the plumbing, heating and cooling for the Annandale campus.
The HVAC/ Plumbing Manager will be responsible for all aspects of residential and commercial HVAC systems on campus including Geo-Thermal, Propane, Fuel Oil, Humidity Control, Heat Pumps, Motor Control, Related Electrical Components, Automated Logic and Honeywell Building Automation Systems. In addition, the Manager will be responsible for all aspects of Plumbing and Heating, including the management of & servicing & cleaning of steam and hot water boilers from 100 to 5 Million BTU’s and general plumbing issues. The department is responsible for the maintenance of the commercial kitchen refrigeration and Cooking Equipment, and supervising the Waste Water Treatment Plant and the licensed Operator.
In addition to developing & managing the departmental budget, the Manager is responsible for developing scopes of work, cost estimates, outsource contracting coordination, project management and managing the work of 10-12 Union Technicians, and will be expected to work 7am to 3.30am Monday through Friday with emergency response as required during off peak hours, to either coordinate a repair or to physically respond and make a repair.
The successful candidate will have at least 5 years supervisory, technical, installation and troubleshooting experience. In addition, qualifications, including Trade School, certifications, college level credits and licensure are required.
