The maximum salary that can be paid for this position will be $37,761

The NC Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), in collaboration with its partners, protects the health and safety of all North Carolinians and provides essential human services.
The North Carolina Early Intervention Branch (NCEI) is a part of the N.C. Division of Public Health. It is the lead agency for the N.C. Infant-Toddler Program (ITP). The Infant-Toddler Program provides supports and services for families and their children, birth to three who have special needs. Research shows that this time period is critical. It offers a window of opportunity to make a positive difference in how a child develops and learns. Children's Developmental Services Agencies (CDSAs) across North Carolina work with local service providers to help families help their children succeed.
The Durham CDSA serves an 8 county catchment area in Central North Carolina to include the following counties: Chatham, Durham, Franklin, Granville, Orange, Person, Vance and Warren. The primary purpose of this position is to provide direct service coordination to children in the NC Infant-Toddler Program and their families. Services must be provided in compliance with Federal and State regulations for the Infant-Toddler Program. Position is an Early Intervention Service Coordinator for children birth to three located at the Durham Children's Developmental Services Agency. Duties include IFSP development, home visits, intervention planning, and coordinating, authorizing and monitoring of early intervention services according to federal law and state regulations.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies:
This position requires an understanding of child and family development; experience working in service delivery for children with developmental delays who are birth to 5 years of age; experience writing treatment and/or family service plans; experience in working with community support systems and/or resources; as well as communication and interpersonal skills which are effective, respectful, and sensitive for a diverse population.
Management prefers Infant Toddler –Family Specialist Certification or working toward certification. Case management experience is a plus. Fluency in Spanish is desired but not required.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Graduation from a four-year college/university with a bachelor's degree in special education, elementary education, or early childhood education, psychology, nursing, child development, counseling, infant mental health, social work, child and family studies and two years of professional experience working with the population served (see note); or graduation from a four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in another human services field and three years of professional experience working with the population served (see note); or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Note: the population served includes infants, toddlers, or preschoolers with or at risk for developmental delays, disabilities, or atypical development in the case of center or home-based early intervention programs. For such service settings, experience may also be with families of such children, other care providers, or non-disabled children of this age or with child mental health related programs. In other service settings such as CAP-DD, components or itinerant teams, experience may be with adults with developmental disabilities or mental illness. Degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
