As a select member of Impinj’s reader hardware team, the Hardware Design Engineer will design and bring to production new RFID reader products. Impinj will leverage your RF and analog circuit design skills to advance reader performance, while maintaining low production costs and rapid time to market. Design circuits and subsystems for new UHF RFID reader products and reader chip reference designs.

Analyze new circuit designs using Microwave Office or similar CAD tools.

Engineering evaluation, charactization, and qualification of new RFID reader designs.

Work with New Product Introduction (NPI) engineers to transition new products to production.

Support sustaining production activities for existing products.


Electrical Engineering BS or MS degree and a minimum of 3 years of related experience.

RF (UHF) and analog product design experience – schematic level, PCB, and unit.

Expertise evaluating and debugging RF hardware using engineering laboratory equipment (spectrum analyzer, VNA, RF anechoic chamber, etc.).

Experience providing support for manufacturing of existing products.

Leadership and interpersonal skills necessary to work cross-functionally.

High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Desired Qualifications

Experience with PLM systems (Arena Solutions and/or Oracle-Agile).

Working knowledge of Cadence Allegro (schematic capture and PCB layout).

Digital design experience – ARM micro-controllers.
