Hardware Technician

Is a Tier I support technician providing deskside incident resolution of workstations, printers, and peripheral devices.

1. Monitors and responds to hardware and software problems utilizing a variety of hardware including Printers and software testing tools and techniques.
2. Under direct supervision assists with network hardware, Servers and software installation, troubleshooting, and support.
3. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
4. Participates in special projects as required.
5. Assists with Asset management and Inventory of IT assets
6. Assists with security vulnerability remediation

Associates Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

Certifications:
ITIL Foundation V3, Comp TIA A+, Comp TIA Network+, and Help Desk Institute (HDI) Certification required or attainable within 6 months of hire date.

0-1 years of directly related experience supporting network operations.

Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Weekends and shift work may be required

WORKING CONDITIONS: Standard business work environment. After hours availability for communication and escalation is required. On-call availability (emergent restoration support only) and flexibility to work on a varied shift rotation is expected. The work is typically performed in an office environment, which requires normal safety precautions; work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes or equipment. Must be able to lift and carry at least 30-50 lbs.
