POSITION: Head Tennis Professional (Program Coordinator)
12 month, 100% Academic Professional Appointment; Atkins Tennis Center
In addition: Variable tennis instruction will be required and paid on an hourly basis, as well as a percentage of clinic revenue.
Planning, development and administration of Instructional Programs for the Atkins Tennis Center including: lesson plans; assist with marketing and promotions, assist in management of part-time instructional staff. Commitment to implement instructional programs and evaluation of part-time instructional staff. Commitment to being present at all instructional/clinic program hours as designated by supervisor. Commitment to and responsibility for adhering to all rules and regulations of the University of Illinois. Work compatibly and cooperatively with the staff and personnel in the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics.
Bachelor’s degree required. At least two years experience in teaching and running instructional programs. Teaching certification required from either USPTA or PTR. Demonstrated competency in systematic and scientific approach to instruction. Knowledge of business administration and management of personnel. Demonstrated ability with computer systems and software including spreadsheet and word processing applications. Demonstrated personal and professional integrity and credibility in athletics. Good public relations and interpersonal skills in dealing with community patrons, children, peers, and administrative personnel. Knowledge of, and compliance with, specific NCAA, Big Ten Conference and institutional rules that relate to this position is required.
SALARY: Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
