This position will report to the Associate Director - Environmental, Health, and Safety and will based at the Wayne, PA laboratory. The position has responsibility for overseeing all aspects of environmental, health and safety programs related to central laboratories globally and for facilitating a collaborative approach to implementing such programs with site management.
Prior lab experience is highly desirable. Must have experience with bloodborne pathogens, chemical hazards, and controlled substances.
Educational and Professional requirements include:
BS in Industrial Hygiene and Safety or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job or
BS or BA in the health/safety/environmental sciences or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the individual with the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
2-5 years experience in industrial hygiene and safety.
Experience in a laboratory, clinic and/or health care setting is preferred.
OSHA VPP experience is desired as this is a Star site.
Familiarity with the Pennsylvania environmental regulations is desired.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Thorough knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, ICAO, NRC, and other related regulations.
Experience with global health, safety and environment regulations is preferred.
Knowledge of air monitoring strategies required.
Knowledge of chemical and biohazard issues and how to dispose of these wastes is required.
Strong presentation skills and the ability to provide effective training.
Good problem solving skills.
Knowledge of workers' compensation requirements.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Good judgment and business acumen.
Good computer skills.
