As our Part Time Health Coordinator for the Family Home Programs, you will be planning, developing and implementing a coordinated program for the control of infection, medication administration and employee and youth health activities. You will also insure regulatory compliance with all licensing , contract and accreditation standards (Council on Accreditation). You will conduct ongoing monitoring and evaluation of infection data for the Family Home Programs and facilitate meetings as co-chair of the Health/Infection Control Quality Management Council Committee. You will report infection to public health authorities as needed.
As a resource person and educator for Family Home Program youth and staff you will research and recommend products and procedures to reduce the risks of endemic and epidemic infections. You will plan, develop and implement a coordinated medications administration program insuring compliance with Boys Town policies and procedures. In addition, you will review and monitor the medical history of each youth on an ongoing basis as well as plan, develop, coordinate youth health activities and wellness.
You will conduct pre-employment health screens, employee incident reporting, and TB and Hepatitis B programs. Your role will also help develop and revise Pre-Service Workshop sections and training support materials as needed for Medication Administration/Lab training as well as produce and present other training programs on various health education topics.
This position will be part time working typically 20 hours per week Monday - Friday. The schedule may be flexible to work mornings or afternoons. This position is eligible to work up to 39 hours per week, however average hours will be approximately 20 hours per week. This position will be eligible for part time benefits.
The ideal candidate will have the following Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to understand and utilize medical terminology.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements pertaining to youth care.
High level of professionalism and interpersonal skills.
Excellent critical thinking, analytical, and problem solving skills.
Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
Ability to communicate in an articulate, professional manner while maintaining necessary degree of confidentiality.
Ability to translate medical data into understandable conclusions and recommendations.
Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and multi-task while maintaining quality standards.
Ability to quickly make decisions in sensitive and sometimes critical areas and present decisions to appropriate individuals.
Ability to adapt responses to situations while maintaining procedural and regulatory integrity.
Strong knowledge of Boys Town model.
To be considered for this unique opportunity you will need:
Graduate of a professional nursing program.
3 years experience in a medical office setting.
Previous management experience is preferred.
Current, unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Nebraska required.
CPR certification required.
