HOME EQUITY/MORTGAGE UNDERWRITER
Reports to: Assistant Manager Home Equity
Responsible for reviewing, examining, evaluating, and underwriting all home equity applications in accordance with Bethpage FCU guidelines, policies and procedures.
C. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Underwrite new loan applications, review title to
verify no open liens or judgments.
Perform critical review of appraisal reports to determine loan to value.
Perform careful review of conditions, and all relevant documents. Verify proof of income,
(tax returns, pay stub and member identification)
Ensure timely processing turnaround times on Home Equity files.Expedite closing when appropriate.
Answering telephone in a courteous and professional manner that reflects Bethpage FCU high standards of member service.

F. EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
Four year degree preferred.
One year underwriting experience required. Ability to analyze and evaluate credit reports, residential appraisals, financial statements and tax returns.
