Works directly with parents in their home to develop and deliver 90 minute weekly home visits through activity plans. Works with parents to meet child and pregnant woman education, health, and nutrition needs. Plans with and demonstrates for parents’ appropriate education and early childhood development activities to support parents in their role as their child’s first teacher. Maintains family and child information in an accurate and confidential record system. Assists parents in establishing and working toward short and long term goals for their child and family. Provide prenatal education and coordinate services for expecting families.

Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.*. Two years experience providing direct services to low-income families. Knowledge and experience in adult learning principles and family dynamics. Knowledge of community resources. Bilingual ability in English/Spanish preferred.** Excellent interpersonal skills. No citations for child abuse or neglect. Flexible hours required and may require working evenings and weekends.. Basic computer skills required. Must be able to travel to conduct home visits and attend meeting and trainings.

Must pass physical and TB test. Ability to: Meet deadlines, respond to emergency situations, travel, communicate effectively, coordinate work activities with others, analyze and solve problems. Basic computer and math skills. Must be able to hold and move small children weighing 5-50 pounds. Must be able to move and play with small children indoors and outdoors, including routine tasks such as diaper changing and feeding.

Individual family homes for the purpose of conducting home visits. Office environment for scheduling and record keeping. Child care center environment. Dress according to policy, in all three settings.
