Reporting to the VP, Patient Care Services, primarily responsible to hospitalists to prioritize/manage the Hospitalist's time/resources as applicable to the needs of the office and Inpatient settings; with a focus on gathering of clinical information, results of tests, discharge plans, and changes in patient condition to facilitate Hospitalist’s patient visits. Coordinates communication between hospitalists and referring providers, consultation requests from medical staff members, ED/other ancillary departments, patient and family. RN with current Illinois licensure required. Recent nursing experience in an acute care inpatient hospital setting required, ten years acute care experience preferred. Advanced clinical assessment skills, detail-oriented, and possesses strong critical thinking skills. Advanced Meditech knowledge and skill with clinical applications; able to provide user support for Hospitalists. Current certification in advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) required. Demomstrated competency/success with negotiation, conflict resolution, use of organizational skills, flexibility, and use of verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills in serving patients, family, and peers required.
