The Indianapolis Public Library is currently seeking an Hourly Computer Assistant for the Central Adult Services/Vonnegut Workgroup. Under general supervision, the selected candidate will monitor public use of the Central Computer Lab and perform a variety of clerical and technical tasks in support of this service and other services at Central Library. The duties will include providing help to patrons with the basics in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and use of the Internet.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitor the computer lab.
Handle patron’s questions in a timely manner and offer computer assistance.
Troubleshoot basic computer technical problems.
Accept and process all outgoing and incoming materials from patrons in a timely manner.
Assist patrons with library card applications.
Process and shelve holds.
Assist patrons with questions regarding library policies and services.
High School Diploma or GED
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
