The Housekeeping/Laundry Supervisor performs cleaning and laundry duties in the facility and assists the Plant Operations Director with the daily operation of the departments. The major challenge of this position to supervise the housekeeping and laundry staff in an efficient and effective manner, maintaining the high standard for cleanliness and efficiency required by Belle Fourche Healthcare Community.

Primary Responsibilities:

6.1 Performs safety and infection control procedures to ensure a safe and clean environment for residents and staff. Is an active participant in the performance improvement process.

6.2 Attends department meetings, facility meetings, and educational opportunities. Holds staff meetings at least quarterly in all his/her departments.

6.3 Performs a variety of cleaning duties to ensure established standard of cleanliness are maintained in the facility, and adjusts these duties to ensure the needs of the assigned area are met. Performs duties in the Laundry department as needed and schedules staff in both departments to efficiently meet the needs of the facility and keep within the scheduling guidelines as outlined in the facility budget.

6.4 Performs work efficiently and with minimal supervision to contribute to an economical operation. Completes annual performance evaluations on all staff he/she supervises on time and in an effective manner.

6.5 Instructs and supervises staff on proper cleaning/laundering methods and ensures good productivity is maintained. Completes scheduling and changes daily job assignments when needed.

Qualifications:
  • Education/Experience: Must possess good communication and organizational skills; relate well with staff and possess the ability to learn and follow cleaning and safety procedures, aseptic techniques and special cleaning procedures for designated areas; to follow verbal and written instructions; to adjust duties to assigned area traffic and needs; to work independently.
  • Technical Skills: Must be able to run equipment as needed in all departments. Must be able to schedule staff and use computers as needed.
  • Other qualifications/certificate/license: None required.
  • PC Competencies: Basic computer experience including Windows applications.
