Jeffersons Ferry, a continuing care retirement community in South Setauket, New York is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager with Health Care background. Must be able to work in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment and have a can-do attitude.Description:Responsible for supporting the day to day activities and strategic initiatives as they relate to recruitment, benefits, compensation, employee records, HRIS, leaves of absence, FMLA, employee relations, government compliance, payroll, policies and procedures, budgeting, organizational development, project management and training and development. Act as advocate for employees and manager, promoting positive employee relations.Responsibilities: Manage day to day HR functions of the community Oversee HR compliance issues and ensure full compliance with all DOH, and other regulatory requirements at all times. Responsible for overall recruitment process; reviews all internal and external applications to ensure they meet the minimum requirements of the job; coordinate and participate in the interview process with department managers. Conducts all background screenings in accordance with Jeffersons Ferry new hire procedures and in compliance with DOH requirements Conduct all new hire orientations to ensure a positive on-boarding experience for all new hires Ensures personnel files are complete, up to date and in compliance with state and federal regulations, including DOH requirements. Advised and educates community management team on possible employee relations and other opportunities for improving coaching and counseling skills. Conduct annual review of all benefits programs and administer annual employee survey process and open enrollment. Support managers with employee relations issues, assists with conduction investigations and recommends course of action consistent with Jeffersons Ferry human resource policies, ensuring compliance with state and Federal laws. Addresses employee complaints/concerns and follows up with appropriate investigation and communication to both employee and manager. Keeps CFO apprised of any employee concerns as they arise. Takes a leadership role in the coordination of special employee appreciation and recognition events at the community. Manages the performance review process for the community; provides guidance to manager on conducting performance evaluations. Administers benefits programs including medical, dental and ancillary coverage; Workers Compensation, COBRA. Must be able to demonstrate competence in managing multiple projects concurrently, meeting deadlines, and producing complete, accurate work. Supervises Human Resources Administrator
Bachelors Degree in Human Resources or related field and/or Professional Certification in Human Resources At least 2-3 years experience in Healthcare , Long Term Care. A minimum requirement of 5 + years experience in Human Resource Management Knowledge of state and federal regulations pertaining to Long Term Care Proficient PC Skills – (MS Office) advanced level of word, spreadsheet and presentation software Ability to communicate and interact clearly, courteously and professionally with residents and staff at all levels.Jeffersons Ferry has a relaxing and beautiful work environment with competitive compensation and benefits.Equal Opportunity
