Advisor and consultant on HR issues to the mill manager, and members of mill leadership teams of the paper mill and sawmill. Participates in strategic planning process and translates the strategic and tactical business plans into HR strategic and operational plans. Manages the Human Resources (HR) function for the sites to ensure the locations meet their business objectives while remaining in compliance with MeadWestvaco policies, and government laws and regulations. Provides the vision, leadership and management of HR functions, including organizational development, payroll, salary administration, employee and labor relations, and other HR related services.
Manage employee relations
Participate on mill leadership teams
Oversee recruiting and compensation strategies for mill
Manage the employee and labor relations functions
Manage the HR Services
Ensures performance management, workforce planning and succession planning processes support facility objectives
Heavily involved in shaping safe and high performing culture
Special projects, corporate task forces, community involvement, employee relations, investigations, etc. WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

10 years Human Resources experience as a personnel generalist or in labor relations.
At least 5 years supervisory experience in a related industry or manufacturing environment is preferred.
BS degree in business related field, with emphasis on business, labor relations or OD/Training is required
MBA or Masters HR related field preferred.
Professional HR Certification through SPHR along with additional training in Workers Compensation Laws, compensation systems, HRIS, security and labor law desirable.
Experience as first chair in negotiations and arbitration advocacy preferred.
