Performs administrative and clerical support for the Human Resources Division. Provides customer service to employees and citizens answering a variety of questions both at the front counter and over the phone and assisting with the completion of forms. Responsible for scanning documents. Prepares correspondence, reports, and forms, and maintains division files and records. Must be able to work from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. on Monday, Thursday, and Friday.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school graduate or equivalent supplemented by course work in secretarial science or business practices, and 2-3 years of experience in administrative or clerical work; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Personal computer experience using Microsoft Word and Excel software required.

Requires knowledge of business English and modern office procedures and equipment.

Must have good keyboarding and proofreading skills.

Physical Demands:

Must be physically able to operate a variety of automated office machines including computers, typewriters, calculators, copiers, facsimile machines, etc. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for periods of time. There is some bending and stooping when filing. Gripping occurs when talking on the phone, writing, collating materials, and using the hole-punching machine.
