Previous experience with laboratory equipment and methodologies (preferably those related to areas of responsibility).Basic computer literacy. Good customer service skills. Ability to interact effectively and communicate proficiently with hospital staff, patients, physicians and others.Good problem resolution skills. High school diploma, completion of Health Occupations School to Work Pathway, completion of accredited laboratory program or military laboratory training.Basic understanding of medical terminology.
To process and triage specimens for testing. To perform waived and moderately complex manual and automated laboratory testing in a timely and accurate manner. To maintain an inventory of supplies, including the ordering, receipt and delivery of supplies. To prepare solutions and reagents for testing.Accountabilities: 1. Processes specimens and assists in performance of tests and procedures. 2. Identifies and solves common problems relating to laboratory methodology, instrumentation and procedure under the direction of the Laboratory Manager.3. Participates in development and education. 4. Maintains adequate inventory of supplies as required by the department.5. Prepares solutions and reagents.
This is a PART TIME DAY/PM rotation position and associate must be able to work 1summer and 1winter holiday, rotate weekends and have some laboratory experience.
