Job Summary

The Package Process Management (PPM) Project Supervisor provides support and enhancements to existing and new operations systems to ensure projects are aligned with the corporate strategy. He/She gathers business requirements, initiates feasibility studies, and maintains data for the project's life cycle. The Package Process Management Project Supervisor serves as liaison between stakeholders, software engineers, and software users. The Package Process Management (PPM) Project Supervisor reports to the PPM Group Project Manager or PPM Project Managers.

Job Duties / Responsibilities and Skills

Conducts Project Feasibility Studies
  • Develops business cases to ensure projects are aligned with UPS's corporate strategy.
  • Performs cost benefit analyses to ensure effective use of UPS resources and maximum return-on-investment.
  • Conducts survey meetings with end users to clarify business requests and determine project cost.
  • Conducts data research to prevent duplication of efforts.
    Confers with cross-functional teams to determine project feasibility.
Develops Business Requirements for New Functionality
  • Performs cost benefit analyses to ensure effective use of UPS resources and maximum return-on-investment.
  • Conducts survey meetings with end users to clarify business requests and determine project costs.
  • Confers with cross-functional teams to determine project feasibility.
  • Creates functional design requirements to define how the application will perform.
  • Reviews project requirements with the management team to receive approval to proceed.
Conducts User Acceptance Testing
  • Runs test scripts to ensure applications meet end users' needs.
  • Reports application defects to IS to ensure resolution prior to deployment.
  • Attends stakeholders’ status meetings to provide application progress reports.
  • Maintains application documentation to ensure user guides are current and user-friendly.
Provides End User Project Support & Responds to Ad Hoc Requests
  • Updates user manuals to ensure functionality data is current.
  • Provides system resolutions to end users to prevent negative system impacts.
  • Conducts application training to provide end users with information on the systems' functionality.
  • Responds to systems' usability ad hoc requests to ensure clarification of the systems' functionality.
  • Reviews requests and confers with cross-functional teams to prevent application redundancy and ensure the project aligns with business needs.
  • Confers with requestors and Information Systems (IS) to ensure project scope is clearly defined.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree - Preferred
  • Major(s) Preferred – Industrial Engineering, System Engineering, Business Management
  • Years of Job Related Experience – 2-5
  • Related Industry Experience - Preferred

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Authorized to Work in the U.S.
