The Accountant will coordinate financial operations of the Institute for Health Care Innovation and it supported units including the Nursing Service Plan. As coordinator, the Accountant will provide budgeting, monitoring and analytical support to various business units and their respective accounts. The Accountant will also provide relevant advice and analysis to the Business Manager regarding the department/unit’s financial status.
Coordinate fiscal aspect of business operations. Will be responsible for all financial operations of the department which includes budgeting, monitoring, administering and analyzing all departmental accounts. Will establih and maintain atate and ICR operating budgets. Verify conformance to pertinent policies, proceddurces and accounting standards.
Participates in the development and implementation of unit/departmental programs, objectives and long-range planning. Formulate, initiate, implement and communicate polices related to the financial operation of the unit, as well as policies applicaable, campus or university wide.
Provides comprehensive reports and detailed analyses for administrative use. Prepare the processing of transactions and the preparation of monthly financial reports. Prepare and reconcile accounting reports
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
1. Any one or any combination of the following, totaling three (3) years (36 months), from the categories below:
work experience and/or training in Accounting or a closely related field
college course work and/or training in Accounting or a closely related field including 12 semester hours in accounting
Associate Degree (60 semester hours) equals 18 months
90-semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
Bachelor’s Degree or higher (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years
2. A total of two (2) years (24 months) of experience in professional level accounting work consistent with the next lower level of this series.
