Emergency vehicle equipment installer must have the technological and electrical skills to repair and maintain the specialized equipment found in ambulances, fire trucks and other emergency vehicles. Individual must be able to perform physically demanding tasks that may require accessing confined spaces. Installation of emergency vehicle (i.e. lightbars, sirens, speakers, consoles, laptop mounts, push bumpers, LED lighting, prisoner cages, gun racks, and other equipment).
Job and Responsibilities:
• Perform vehicle Outfitting/Up-fitting services
• Installation and removal of all equipment
• Turnkey emergency vehicles
• Patrol vehicles and motorcycles
• Fire and ambulance vehicles
• Utility, security and transport vehicles
• In-car camera systems
• Storage boxes and sliders
• Vehicle repairs, retrofitting and upgrading
• Knowledge of 12V wiring a must
• Maintain an orderly and clean working environment, keeping the installers work area organized
• Complete all required paperwork (service orders, work logs, timecards, etc.)
• Part-time positions available
• Good Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and valid driver’s license
• Minimum of 2 years of experience desired, but not required
• Knowledge of vehicle wiring
• Able to identify electrical circuits
• Experience with installation of emergency lighting desired, but not required
• Ability to communicate well with others
• Ability to work on and see small objects
• Good hearing and color vision
• Be at work ready to work at scheduled time
• Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) Certification desired, but not required
