INTERN - DUV Chambers
Develop and test design improvements to the metal fluoride trap (MFT) on a DUV laser chamber. Characterize the efficiency and capacity of the improved design by comparing to the current production standard.
Expectations of the intern’s activities include:
Learn the operating principles of the DUV laser.
Learn how to run the laser according to Chambers Lab procedures to support experiments.
Assist in the design, set up and build of a new experimental apparatus and associated components.
Work with data acquisition and optical systems
Perform data and image analysis
Prepare a written report (Tech Memo) to document the project
Present test results during team meetings and the overall project results at the end-of-summer intern presentations.
Improve the ArF discharge chamber performance by improving the dust collection efficiency of the metal fluoride trap.
Contribution to Cymer:
Achieve faster progress on the dust mitigation project for extension of XLA/XLR MO and PA chamber lifetimes. Improve chamber reliability and achieve benefits for On-Pulse.

Intern Qualifications/Experience Desired
Searching for a graduate student actively working towards their MS or PhD degree in materials science, physics, chemistry or related field with a current GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Undergraduate student in BS program with laboratory instrumentation experience may also be considered
Prefer basic understanding and skill in flow modeling, Labview, Matlab, and Microsoft Office.
Previous corporate internship projects a plus
