An illustrious firm is seeking an IP Docketing Manager who will manage day-to-day workflow of the IP Docketing department and will be responsible for the supervision of the IP Docketing staff, in their Washington, DC office.

This position will work closely with the Director in the hiring, development and training of docketing staff. Requirements include 8 years of IP Docketing experience, excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to pay close attention to details and be deadline focused. In addition, this position will be responsible for enforcing policies and procedures, overseeing the overall productivity of the department, and finding innovative ways to enhance the operations within the department. The Manager will inform the staff of new developments regarding department equipment, software, procedures, updates, and changes relevant to IP practices; work with the IP managers to create and implement on-going training programs; and coordinate leave/vacation schedules to ensure adequate department coverage. The manager will ensure that all IP Docketing staff take and pass all three docket certification exams and that they are properly cross-trained in patents and trademarks and monitor the Audit Report and ensure the docket system is updated accordingly. In addition strong oral and written communications skills, with the ability to interact with all levels throughout the firm, including attorneys, paralegals, staff and clients and extensive knowledge of US Patent & Trademark Office and International Patent & Trademark practices and procedures is required.
Previous IP law firm experience minimum 8 years of full cycle docketing, a bachelors degree and at least 3 years supervisory experience preferred. Interested candidates please submit resumes to Susan Milkie, Susan@legalplacements.com ,
