The Global Consumer Support (GCSO) IT team is a geographically dispersed organization, and actively contributes to some of HP's top initiatives of developing world class consumer support applications for Global Call Support Centers, and Global Integrated Sales and Service Order Management tools/environments. Our teams are responsible for development, integration and implementation of these types of tools and systems to facilitate supporting HPs customers, customer service orders, and linkages with channel partners.
Our team is looking for a technically experienced analyst, with project management skills. The candidate should be an enthusiastic professional with good interpersonal skills. We are looking for a team player and leader with strong technical knowledge, process, analytical, and communication skills, who is confident operating in a cross-cultural and geographically dispersed environment. Someone who thrives in an atmosphere which is challenging requires flexibility and presents new learning opportunities.
This IT Business Analyst / project management position will have responsibility to drive business needs, and deliver solutions. This role will drive/lead small teams/projects and work to analyze, validate, specify, write, verify and manage the needs from HP Business partners and customers (both internal HP and external end-user needs). This position will serve as the conduit between the HP business teams and the HP IT development teams so that the customer/business needs can be translated in to usable information so the analysis, design, development and test phases of the project lifecycle can be completed. This position will need to provide some technical leadership when working with business partners, and then identify, define, document/write, and ultimately assist in prioritizing the requirements. The role may also be involved or own writing / creating Use Cases, Functional Specifications, Content specifications, and non-functional requirements. This position will work closely with the HP Business and training teams, business process leads, IT technical leads, IT architects, IT developers, QA personnel, and program/project managers to ensure projects are delivered.
Qualifications
Responsibilities:
Write/edit requirements specifications, and consult with partners on requirements gathering. Process needs according to standard templates, using natural language, simply, clearly, unambiguously and concisely
Conduct and/or participate the discover and definition of business process and data requirements in cooperation with business and IT partners
Utilize business process and analysis tools and methodologies (ie: Lifecycle Methodologies) that help the team identify, evaluate and develop integrated business and IT processes in support of program priorities
Manage communication between business and IT functions, serve as the bridge between the two organizations to meet needs
May function as a project manager for projects, and assist in integrating projects in to broader program structure.
Participate in peer and business reviews and inspections of requirements documents
Manage requirements traceability information and track requirements status throughout a given project and at times, multiple projects
Work as a liaison with program / project managers and Technical leads across various function touch points to ensure alignment and consistency
Ability to gain general technical understanding of large scale systems and integration points, general system architecture, how applications are used, and how customers would use given systems
Assist Business leads, Technical leads and Quality Assurance/Test teams in the review of test cases across common business processes
Assist in QA testing when necessary
