** This position will be filled as an IT Business Analyst or IT Business Analyst Sr. depending on the candidates experience and qualifications.
Position provides technical expertise to guide the operation, maintenance, and modification of IT systems used by EntergyÂ¿s field force employees within Distribution Operations. The role of this position is to work as a Business Analyst to help the business utilize IT tools such as EntergyÂ¿s Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) and Graphical Design System.
Build and maintain a positive working relationship with the distribution business across all 4 states by acting as a liaison between the business function and Information Technologies.
Deliver technology solutions that achieve the objectives of distribution operations. Leverage people, processes, and tools inside and outside of the company to architect the future distribution operations and asset management at Entergy. Oversee the entire technology delivery cycle (from concept to delivery) by partnering with the distribution operations, other IT groups and vendors.
Work with distribution business leadership to create short term and long term technology plans for distribution operations; both Electric and Gas with a strong focus in the Geospatial Information System (GIS) space. These plans should encompass both in office users and those that use IT technologies while performing job duties in the field. These plans should be designed based on current distribution opportunities and challenges that the business function would expect to face in the future. The plans should also be used to guide the annual budgeting process.
Work with supply chain, legal, IT management, and other internal organization to determine the best sourcing path for specific IT projects. As necessary, facilitate a competitive bidding process by tapping the IT supplier market and seeking the best overall solution and partnership for the project.
Maintain a strong working knowledge of existing systems that support the distribution business function and maintain an equally deep understanding of the business processes that those systems support.
Manage cost and scope of project from an IT perspective. 1) Monitor and review changes in requirements, schedule and cost 2) Facilitate, approve or reject project change requests 3) Review of monthly reports Â¿ identify project risks with scope, schedule or cost
Architect and Deliver Technical Solutions. 1) Deliver technology solutions that achieve the objectives of the business 2) Architect solutions leveraging people, processes, and tools inside and outside of the organization 3) Oversee the entire technology delivery cycle (from concept to delivery) by partnering with the business function and other IT groups and vendors. 4) Work closely with Entergy IT Architectural resources to ensure solid, secure designs are utilized.
Manage IT project life cycle for enhancements and new IT projects
Participate in vendor evaluation and selection
Work with Project Manager and Business Lead for project kickoff
Gather and document high level requirements for scope of work
Assist with creation of Project Statements of Work and Project Change Requests
Gather and document detailed requirements
Responsible for final documentation and approval of requirements
Responsible for technical input regarding solution design and architecture
Review, QA and sign off of design and design documentation
Ensure corporate architecture is consistently adhered to for the project
Assist in the definition acceptance criteria for completion of the solution.
Facilitate resolution of project issues
Manage cost and scope of project
Coordinate Customer Acceptance Testing (CAT)
Interact with Project Manager and Business Lead to ensure that business objectives are met by the project
Work with the Project Manager and the Business Lead to ensure successful implementation of the project
Support deployment and go-live support
Work with vendor and business to ensure proper system delivery and outage notification if necessary
On-site/On-call support through go-live for system or user issues
Work with System Maintenance Team for project transition and post-deployment issues (30 days after go-live)

3+ years IT support/project experience - IT Business Analyst
5+ years IT support/project experience - IT Business Analyst Sr
Bachelor Degree preferred but not required (Computer Science, IT, or MIS preferred)
Strong technical knowledge of Electrical and/or Gas Distribution Systems
Superior oral and written communication skills
Ability to manage multiple competing priorities
Good understanding of Software Development Lifecycle and Project Management Processes
Strong technical knowledge of Geospatial Information Systems-GIS (GE-Smallworld and/or ESRI preferred)
Strong communication skills verbal/written
Ability to make decisions without management review
