This position is primarily responsible for the development, analysis, management and support of business technology projects and systems. The IT Business Analyst supporting the Finance applications will be a functional expert that will support all our enterprise applications used by the Finance user community, being the liaison between the technical IT teams and the users.
•Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.
•Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
•Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously.
•Drive and challenge business units or functions on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans.
•Strong analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
•Serves as the conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and the software development team through which requirements flow.
•Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
•Be the liaison between the business units, technology teams and support teams.
•Provide application support to systems user for problems or questions that cannot be answered by Help Desk.
•Creates and executes project work plans and revises plans appropriately to meet changing needs and requirements.
•Manages work scope and coordinates deliverables for assigned tasks and projects.
•Assists in development of test plans and co-ordinates testing of system modifications and enhancements.
•Assists in performing high level technical support activities, such as report definitions, system configuration and application setup.
•Perform special projects and assignments as needed.
Minimum Experience and Education:
A minimum of 3 years of relevant experiences in one of the following and 5 years of combined experience in the following:
•A degree in computer science or management information systems is preferred.
•Demonstrated strong understanding of Finance specific business functions and processes, including General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Tax, Financial Consolidation and Reporting.
•IS Enterprise Systems maintenance and development experience or relevant experience in software development
•Technical Systems Analysis and Business Requirements definition
•Strong working knowledge and proficiency in Excel, SQL, Microsoft Project, & Visio
