The role involves supporting the Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery and Crisis Management activities across UBS Group IT BCM. Working with the Global and Regional teams to ensure cross regional collaboration and consistency where appropriate and driving tactical improvements.
The Group Technology BCM Regional Management team is responsible for:
The coordination of Business Continuity lifecycle planning for the IT groups,
IT Crisis Management, development, implementation, training and exercising
Project, technical and administrative support for the Regional Offices testing program including Departmental Plans, System and Data Centre failover testing and Crisis Management.
Management and oversight of IT BCM risk and escalation to appropriate governance forums.
Delivery and development of training and awareness programs to an agreed timetable
Project and program management relevant to IT BCM activities
The Business Continuity Manager (BCM) is responsible for assisting with the design and driving of the strategy, implementation plans and tactical steps for multiple aspects of the UBS Global IT BCM program. This person will:
Deputize for the Regional IT BCM Manager in their absence;
Build, maintain and manage key stakeholder relationships;
Develop and improve processes/procedures that result in clear progress for the organization;
Assist in the implementation and oversight of processes and procedures as agreed;
Assist in the management, co-ordination and oversight of major systems, data-centre, crisis management and departmental recovery exercise;
In partnership with IT Departments, maintain and develop Departmental Recovery Plans;
Ensure that the IT test calendar is maintained and executed;
Co-ordinate regional training and awareness program;
Ensure the IT organizations BCM projects and activities are synchronized with business requirements / prioritizations and ensure applications, infrastructure, people, hardware, resources and real estate agendas match those requirements and priorities;
Ensure Group IT BCM programs and activities are in compliance with the Business Continuity Framework (BCF) and the use/support of the Business Continuity Application (BCA) as required by Group BCM.;
Where appropriate propose new solutions which bring greater efficiencies and or results outside of existing tools;
Provide comprehensive reporting on program status, risks, issues and other relevant areas to Group IT BCM.
Excellent BCM knowledge with proven experience of delivering BCM programs in the financial services sector, in particular Wealth Management.
Knowledge of IT with an understanding of system and architecture inter-dependencies within financial institutions
Excellent project management skills from requirement gathering to design and implementation:
Demonstrable experience of crisis management and business and IT continuity program management within the financial services industry;
Knowledge of ITIL best practices;
Strong documentation, analytical and presentation skills (SQL / Excel skills for reporting is a positive);
Proven experience of senior management engagement and relationship management. Comfortable operating at Board, MD, ED and D levels;
Significant experience driving large scale BCM or technology projects including those focussed on IT recovery, business continuity and crisis management;
Certification in Business Continuity Management from DRII or BCI
Bachelors Degree or equivalent
