Oldcastle Materials is presently looking for an IT QA Manager to join our growing IT team located in Charlotte, NC. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a dynamic and professional team in a changing environment with considerable scope for learning and development. This role is a managerial position and will be responsible for building an internal QA team.
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Build and lead a QA team within a culture of collaboration with an internal development team.
Must be able to create a framework and vision based on industry best practices for a future QA team – while acting as an independent Quality Analyst initially.
Creation of test plans; executing the plans, and managing all activities in the plan to ensure that objectives are met.
Insuring applications work in terms of functionality, performance, reliability, stability and compatibility with other systems.
Testing of web based applications.
Perform regression testing, smoke testing, and black box testing.
Document software defects, using a bug tracking system, and report defects to software developers.
Manage multiple testing tasks across maintenance releases and systems under development.
Analyze various industry standard testing tools to establish most appropriate tool to meet organizational needs.
Review, analyze, and evaluate complex business systems.
7+ years in an IT Quality Analyst role with leadership responsibilities.
Bachelor’s Degree in IT/Computer related discipline, or equivalent experience
Ability to investigate and assess issues to make certain the correct solution is implemented.
Solid, demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Some travel < 10% may be required.
