Our mission at Pixie Scientific is to create a company that parents trust to look over the health of their children. Using our products should be easy - like brushing your teeth in the morning.
Pixie Scientific is looking for computer vision software engineers to join our team. Our system uses OpenCV and various scripting languages. It has a science side to it and a hacker side. Ideally, you excel at both to solve real-world challenges.
- Experience with OpenCV or Matlab and Python, Perl, or Ruby
- Ability to get things done in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Experience with test driven development, continuous integration, and continuous deployment is a plus
- Experience with Amazon Web Services is a plus
- Previous startup experience is a plus
Our backend developers mostly work in Ruby and Python, though we are comfortable supporting different environments as long as the team is moving forward. We use Amazon Web Services, Github, and various databases.
We believe strongly in metrics, testing, and continuous integration. Everything we write is designed for working in real-world environments, which are never ideal - yet we strive to achieve simplicity and not get bogged down in edge cases.
Data security is one of our top concerns. We take security very, very seriously.
We offer competitive salaries, great benefits, and equity in the company. We encourage and subsidize conference participation and continuing education. We believe in work/life balance and fostering a happy workplace.
If you're interested in building the future of health monitoring in a group of nice and practical people, Pixie Scientific is the place for you.
Pixie Scientific is based in New York City and relocation assistance is available. Remote work - preferably from San Francisco or Portland is possible.
