We have an opening for a Researcher to join the energy practice in our Chicago office. NERA's Energy Group is at the forefront of the continuing transformation of the energy industries worldwide. We have pioneered in developing approaches for introducing competition in segments such as power generation and gas supply where competition is workable and for improving the regulation of sectors where it is not. We work with companies, governmental bodies, and regulators worldwide to design competitive gas and electricity markets and to develop tariffs and rules of access for regulated transmission and distribution systems for electricity, gas, and the transport of oil and oil products.
Your responsibilities may include designing and building quantitative models and applying econometric analysis to economic and financial data; reviewing, summarizing, and analyzing industry trends and competitor and academic research; creating trial exhibits and presentation materials; drafting memos and expert reports; managing large data sets and writing programs to implement complex analyses; and participating in client meetings and conference calls. Qualified candidates will have a Master’s degree in economics, finance, mathematics, statistics environment/energy sector, or related field. They will also have a strong academic record and exceptional analytical skill, quantitative skill, as well as a demonstrated ability to communicate complex analyses clearly and coherently. Prior experience in the field of energy, is highly desirable.
