Global Trade Compliance is looking for an energetic Import Compliance Manager with system and IT solutions experience. General responsibilities include daily trade compliance operations; researching and responding to questions; developing system and automation solutions; interfacing with IT and driving IT project prioritization; managing vendors, managing government programs; creating and delivering training programs; developing and administering audits and metrics.
Job Skills Required: *
  • Knowledge of global customs regulations & Harmonized Tariff System *
  • Previous experience on conducting Import self assessments *
  • Knowledge of Special Trade programs (BAA, TAA, NAFTA, etc.) *
  • Knowledge of application of special duty exemptions *
  • Prior experience providing FCC, FDA and EPA requirements at the time of imports needed *
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and able to work with accuracy and efficiency *
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel. Experience in working with trade compliance system solutions. Experience in managing IT projects and in working with IT to draft technical requirements, design, and/or implement system solutions. Experience in developing corporate trade policies and experience in training medium to large groups.

Responsibilities: *
  • Principal person responsible for all import-related matters, worldwide, to ensure hub-and-spoke responsible individuals (a) understand their import responsibilities and (b) abide by those responsibilities *
  • Import Entry Validation and Post-entry recordkeeping audit *
  • Maintain and manage a worldwide master data set with product classifications, regulatory certifications, country of origin and trade program eligibility (TAA, -FTA, GSP, etc.) *
  • Bonded warehouse operations responsibilities *
  • Advice regarding NAFTA qualifications and Free Trade Zone management *
  • Filing all Importer Security Filings, ISFs *
  • Conducting Import audits worldwide *
  • Perform import training *
  • Establish a process to communicate policy changes to the right departments, utilizing trade alerts, meetings, postings *
  • Help manage import elements of new IT system and ensure proper systems and information in systems is up-to-date and properly managed, and train on proper system usage. System could: *
  • Perform classifications *
  • Perform some functions related to ISFs *
  • Documentation generation *
  • Certificates of origin *
  • Help track product and component origins (this is a Need to Have) *
  • Help ensure proper valuations and use of proper valuations worldwide *
  • Customs brokerage services (though most often outsourced) and Customs Broker management *
  • Provide back-up on the export side and assistance on the export side at Q end

U.S Customs Broker's License desired; Bachelors degree (or equivalent experience) and 10 years of related experience.
