Position Description:
Positions in this function includes those responsible for initial triage of members, administrative intake of members or managing the admission/discharge information post-notification, working with hospitals and the clinical team. Includes managing incoming calls, managing requests for services from providers/members, providing information on available network services and transferring members as appropriate to clinical staff. Manages the referrals process, processes incoming and outgoing referrals, and prior authorizations. This function includes intake, notification and census roles.

Primary Responsibilities:
· This is an Inbound Call Center. Answer inbound calls all day and respond to questions on the phone related to benefits, authorization and eligibility.

Working with hospitals and the clinical team, including managing incoming calls, managing requests for services from providers/members, providing information on available network services
Transferring members as appropriate to clinical staff
Manage the referrals process, processing incoming and outgoing referrals, and prior authorizations, including intake, notification and census roles
Applicants will be taking some 60-80 calls daily from members and providers asking for information on their benefits; available providers in the network and obtaining authorizations as needed. The job is highly structured with preplanned breaks and lunches based. Good attendance is very important. Requirements:

High School Diploma/GED.
6+ months experience in an office setting using the telephone and computer as the primary instruments to perform the job.
Basic MS Office skills, as well as the ability to toggle between windows.
Strong Data Entry skills required.
Must be able to talk & type at the same time.
Must be dependable/ reliable and able to work within a structure environment.

1+ year Call Center experience with high volume is a plus.
6+ months experience in Clerical or Administrator work is preferred.
Healthcare or Insurance Benefits experience is preferred.
Medical terminology/Coding (ICD-9 and CPT) is preferred.·
Hospital, physician, or medical / clinical experience is preferred
Medicare and/or Medicaid experience is preferred
