The Industrial Design team provides a core function and is imbedded alongside Mechanical, Power, Thermal and Package Engineering. This position is for a hands-on Senior Industrial Designer in the Global Product Operations group. GPO offers a fast paced, challenging, and rewarding environment that encourages personal and professional growth, fosters teamwork, and rewards results. The design candidate needs to adapt to various different tasks from high level progressive and innovative conceptual product proposals and development to 2D servicing and chassis related graphics.
The candidate for this position must have exceptional creative skills along with strong presentation abilities. This person needs to have good mechanical aptitude and ability to work hands on in modeling prototypes of various design concepts. Creative problem solving abilities along with good communication and presentation skills are a must. Experience with concept tools such as Alias Design, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe PhotoShop and KeyShot3 are also necessary. Mechanical CAD experience with SolidWorks is highly recommended. Ability to create service graphics and product labeling is a must. This person must be a highly motivated self starting individual willing to work in aggressive team deadline situations.
Minimum 5 - 8 years with an Industrial Design group. Must have a passion for design. High-tech, consumer goods, computer or medical device background is desirable. Must show creative problem solving abilities and have a good understanding of mechanical engineering. Must be current with manufacturing processes, design for manufacturing and green processes. Must possess exceptional concept development skills and be able to communicate those ideas. Must have strong knowledge of ergonomics. Must be able to work alone or in a team. Ability to create soft models, renderings, concept sketches, and presentation skills are extremely important. Must be proficient with Adobe Illustrator, Adobe PhotoShop and 3D CAD. Alias Design, Solidworks and KeyShot3 are a huge plus.
Graduate with a Bachelors or Masters in Industrial Design.
