Infection Control Nurse - Infection Control (CH): Understands the multiple facets of the Infection Control Program through a team approach for Catholic Health. Promote the policies of the Infection Control Program by providing a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff through prevention and risk reduction interventions. This position involves professional responsibilities in the areas of case findings, surveillance, reporting, analysis and interpretation, inspection, prevention, education, consultation and recommendations. Will provide, or conduct other duties to support the function of the Infection Control department as assigned by the Infection Control Director or Infection Control Coordinator.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSILIBILITIES: None

SKILL AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS (MINIMUM):

Education
·
Current Registered Nurse licensed by the State of New York
Experience
·
Current (within one year) clinical experience required
·
Minimum of five (5) years clinical experience with one (1) year in a critical care setting preferred.
Knowledge, Skill and Ability
·
Requires good verbal and written communication skills
· Emergency preparedness training is desirable
· Strong critical thinking and problem solving ability required
· Experience in planning and presentations in various settings
· Strong ability to prioritize and adapt to changes as needed
· Computer skills are essential for excel, word, outlook or other data management programs
