In this position, you will develop and implement the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program (ASP) for the pharmacy at Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center and Orthopaedic Hospital. This involves helping establish evidence-based, disease-specific antimicrobial use guidelines and clinical pathways; monitoring patients receiving antimicrobials; ensuring the clinical and microbiological effectiveness of antimicrobials; and decreasing the emergence of resistance. In addition, you will participate in the development of an educational curriculum aimed at improving our infectious diseases practice.
To qualify, you must have a PharmD degree and a license to practice pharmaceutical care in the state of California. Completion of a PGY1 pharmacy practice residency is also required. Preferred candidates have completed a residency in infectious diseases or have equivalent training or experience in this area.
