Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Information Management Analyst - InfoSphere located in Concord, CA through December 4, 2013 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).

As part of the Chevron Information Technology Company (ITC), the position provides support and delivery of Data and Information Management solutions globally.

Position Details:
RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THIS POSITION MAY INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
  • Manages and coordinates project onboarding/decommissioning for data integration, quality, and metadata projects, e.g. InfoSphere DataStage, Information Analyzer, and Business Glossary/Metadata Workbench.
  • Maintains InfoSphere project inventory, including compliance ratings and contacts.
  • Champions and maintains alignment with ITC business and strategic plans, including achieving Operational Excellence (OE) targets for safety, product reliability, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Plans, coordinates, and schedules compliance activities for the InfoSphere infrastructure hosting environment.
  • Participates in Information Protection (IP) audit activities, and ensures adherence to required compliance technical controls.
  • Engages with business partners and application delivery teams to assess and plan project requirements, timelines, and coordinate deployment and support of architecturally compliant solutions with InfoSphere technical lead.
  • Connects regularly with key IT business partners and stakeholders to understand business needs and solicit feedback for improving the InfoSphere product and support services.
  • Champions and leads InfoSphere Customer/Tools Advisory Board, including setting charter, maintaining business partner membership, and conducting regular meetings.
  • Keeps abreast of emerging technologies/ vendor roadmaps and contributes to product strategy and future directions, including strategic planning, project planning/management, and Proof of Concept (POC) activities.
  • Collaborates with team architects and InfoSphere technical lead to develop standards and best practices for enterprise glossary deployment.
  • Engages with business partners to plan glossary requirements, coordinate implementation, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Participates in disaster recovery, business continuity planning, root cause analysis, and other issues impacting the InfoSphere infrastructure hosting environment.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years’ work experience in an IT related field.
  • Demonstrated IT business partner focus and ability to understand business drivers.
  • Previous working experience in data management and database administration.
  • Previous working experience with data integration, data quality, and/or metadata technologies
  • Previous experience with InfoSphere Information Server suite of tools, including Business Glossary, DataStage, Information Analyzer, Metadata Workbench, and QualityStage.
  • Previous working experience with Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL Server database technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience with technology, project, and process documentation.
  • Experience with global IT environments, including communications and work activities with business and IT partners in international locations.
  • Ability to work independently .

  • Strong demonstrated commitment to all aspects of Operational Excellence.
  • Understanding of how to leverage data management solutions, procedures, standards, and technical controls to ensure reliable, compliant, and secure operations.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to handle urgent and multiple competing priorities.
