THIS IS A PAID POSITION!

The Information System Manager is responsible for the administration of the agency's Information System, to include expansion and continuing enhancements to existing Information System network systems at the corporate and division level.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

The position requires a college degree in Computer Science, or MCSE certification with 5 to 6 years experience in the computer field with proven knowledge in Active directory, Windows server 2003, 2008, Novell 6.x, network operating system, Novell NDS. The applicant should also possess strong desktop skills in Window XP, MS Office XP, 2003, 2007, Novell GroupWise and Microsoft Exchange. Also, thorough knowledge of legacy and new telephony network equipment and architecture, ISDN/PRI/T1/DS3/OC-3 circuits and VOIP. Excellent written, oral communications and interpersonal skills are essential along with the ability to work with a team in a demanding user environment and the ability to coordinate many projects simultaneously. The candidate must also have at least 2 - 3 years experience in a supervisory capacity.

PRINCIPLE ACTIVITIES :

  • Supervise IS support staff.
  • Manage daily administration of LAN to ensure a smooth implementation and continued integrity of the network.
  • Manage help desk technical support in a cost effective manner.
  • Direct and participate in the development, design and implementation of administration related initiatives.
  • Negotiate administration related contracts with network vendors following Agency standardization guidelines.
  • Manage daily system backups. Develop and maintain a disaster recovery and contingency plan. Provide back-up support to the IS Manager – Network Administration.
