We are seeking a team member that is motivated, ambitious, and excited to partake in the growth of our company. The Inside Applications Specialist must be able to competently support Filtration Technologies and secondarily Purification Technologies, Fluid Management Technologies, Fermentation Technologies, Freeze & Thaw Technologies, Laboratory Technologies and Confidence Validation Services. This position is located at the North American Headquarters in Bohemia, NY.
What you can look forward to accomplishing
•Provide expert technical and applications support to internal and external customers domestically and globally.
•Conduct and coordinate product quality investigation and their resulting reports
•Facilitate customer satisfaction
•Develop and provide high quality technical training to customers, sales force, co-workers
•Interact with the Product Management, Customer Service, QA, and Marketing departments by providing technical assistance
•Attend trade shows as necessary
•Respond to customer inquiries and facilitate the quoting process for select items.
•Size housings and filters
•Provide information (dimensions, operating conditions, drawings, etc.) to support proposals for filters and hardware/housings.
•Perform IncreaseTM filterability/optimization trials; Collect and analyze data, and present results in report and presentation format, in a timely manner.
•Contribute to development of Application Specialist knowledge base, by sharing experiences, reports, ideas, etc.
•Troubleshoot customer problems and resolve customer complaints in a timely and satisfactory manner.
•Cooperate and communicate closely with Product Management and Sales Management on project status, updates, etc.
•Demonstrate basic knowledge of regulatory affairs, the bioprocess, and the entire Sartorius Stedim Biotech product portfolio.
•Conduct product specification review and competitor x-reference as needed.
•Participate in special projects as needed.
•Identify and communicate business opportunities to increase sales
Skills and experience you need to bring to our company The ideal candidate will have experience with aseptic processing, filtration, integrity testing, process development, fermentation, and filter validation in the biotech industry in addition to having:
•B.S., M.S. or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Biological Engineering, Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology or Microbiology.
•Relevant work experience from employment in Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical and University sectors.
•Familiarity with cGMP, FDA CFR.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to function in a multi-tasking environment.
•Excellent understanding of business issues as well as problem-solving, analytical, and active listening skills.
•Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Visio and Word.
•A genuine desire to learn, seek out valuable information and help to others.
•Ability to work independently when required.
•Ability to follow instructions.
•Ability to travel if needed (typically less than 10%).
•Confidence in their abilities.
