Analyses and manages data in a College Institutional Research office.
Collects, analyzes, maintains, and reports statistical institutional data and information online and in print
Coordinates administration, data collection, and production of periodic reports and materials required for program reviews
Responds to periodic external surveys to ensure timely and accurate reporting
Conducts statistical research studies focusing on student recruitment, enrollment, retention, admissions, and financial aid
Maintains selected databases and document libraries, soliciting and implementing regular updates and ensuring data quality and completeness
Responds to time-critical ad-hoc requests for data and information, both internally and externally
May consult with faculty and students in the design of databases for research projects
Performs related duties as assigned.
CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION
The Institutional Research Specialist for Effectiveness and Planning assists the Dean for Institutional Effectiveness and Strategic Planning in the implementation of the BMCC Collaborative Improvement Model campus-wide as well as well as in various applied research and evaluation studies designed to inform policy and decision-making.
The general duties include, but are not limited to:
Assisting in campus-wide and departmental capacity building training and workshops related to planning, assessment and continuous improvement. Coordinating event planning, record keeping and documentation related to the ongoing strategic planning and assessment efforts.
Providing assistance in applied quasi-experimental evaluation research design, data collection, survey design, data analyses, interpretation, data presentation and reporting for diverse audiences.
Providing assistance in action planning, proposal development and project management related to strategic initiatives and projects.
Supporting faculty in Human Subjects Research Protections through coordination of the CUNY IRB process at BMCC.
Maintaining document repositories, planning databases, spreadsheets and web content related to the Continuous Improvement Model at BMCC.
