·Upon offer of employment a written proficiency test will be required for applicants who do not meet one of the following requirements:
1.Verification of 48 semester units post high school, OR
2.Possession of an A.A. degree or higher
·Valid California driver’s license
·Previous job-related experience is preferred.

CCCOE Special Education
The Contra Costa County Office of Education provides a full range of services designed to meet the needs of students with disabilities throughout the county. Students, ranging in age from birth to age 22, include Severely Multiply Handicapped, Severely Handicapped, and Emotionally Disturbed. Classroom settings include fully integrated sites on regular school campuses, community-based instruction, and special centers. By offering a range of settings, the programs can address students' individual education needs.Instructional Assistants assist teachers in a comprehensive learning environment, including a highly structured behavior management system, while assisting the students with self-help, vocational, and academic skills as necessary.
The Instructional Assistant in this position under the direction of the Teacher and School Nurse will provide assistance to a student with medical needs.
