Moodlerooms is searching for an organized, energetic Instructional Designer/Trainer to join its Client Services team to design, develop and deliver high-quality training solutions to our internal and external clients. Candidates must demonstrate expertise in developing training courses according to recognized practices for Instructional Design, with preference given to candidates who have formerly developed courses to be delivered on the Moodle (or similar) platform. A passion for integrating learning technologies and related best practices is integral to the position.

Design and deliver e-learning training courses (asynchronous, webinar and face-to-face workshops) utilizing standardized models of instructional design and instructional delivery to ensure consistent delivery of goals and learning objectives. Training, developed for both internal and external consumption, will focus around the Moodle learning management platform, including product functionality and best practices.
Translate general principles of learning and instruction to develop highly engaging, relevant training materials at all levels of complexity.
Analyze learning needs, goals and objectives; identify audience; and determine the required training strategy and appropriate delivery system.
Must have in-depth experience with Learning Management Systems with the ability to not only understand and teach to product features but also to apply and suggest best practices for adoption and usage. Moodle experience is highly desirable.
3+ years experience designing, developing and facilitating training in the educational technology space with a demonstrated and infectious passion for instructional technology and/or open source.
Self-starter with confidence and initiative. Unlike many instructional design/training positions, candidate will not only serve as course developer and facilitator but also Subject Matter Expert.
Strength in developing and integrating content, materials and media to meet detailed design specifications and support the overall learning goals and objectives.
Excellent training skills, including the ability to engage learners of multiple skill levels from different market segments (higher ed, K12, corporate) and motivation levels.
Preferably proficient with tools like Articulate, Captivate, Camtasia and Flash (or equivalent e-learning development tools); audio and video editing tools; Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator; Microsoft Word and PowerPoint; and HTML (particularly as used in the development of instructional content)
Attention to detail in all areas of work.
Superior time management and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
Ability to work cooperatively with all levels in the organization, think quickly on your feet, work effectively as part of a positive, high-performing team, and serve as an exemplary ambassador of the company.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Adult Learning Theory or related field.
Travel expectation: Up to 50%
