Job Summary/Basic Function:
Assists, trains and supports faculty in the development of web-based courses utilizing instructional technologies. Provides Tier II support to the elearning services used at the institution.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Thorough knowledge of instructional design and technology support;
Demonstrated competency using a variety of Learning Management Systems and ancillary plug-ins to build online courses;
Demonstrated interpersonal, analytical, organizational, written and problem-solving skills specific to project management/online course development;
Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of adult learning theory and its application for online learning environments;
Ability to work under pressure and as an effective and productive member of a team.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in related field and two years experience in the field ~OR~ equivalent combination of higher education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree in an education or technology related field.
More than 3 years in instructional/online course development in higher education.
Experience with Blackboard Learn platform.
Advanced knowledge of HTML, CSS, web-page development and web-authoring tools, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Fireworks and MS Office.
Experience in video conferencing, Flash, audio/video editing,
and JavaScript preferred.
Experience with auxiliary elearning software such as Respondus, Turnitin, Kaltura.
Familiarity with Quality Matters, SLOAN-C scorecard or similar quality insurance frameworks for online learning.

Assist and support faculty in the development of Web-based courses utilizing instructional technologies. This includes providing development support to faculty in course redesign and developing appropriate teaching/learning applications of technologies.


Design and create instructional Web pages for faculty.


Assist in the design and implementation of evaluation procedures to assess effectiveness of different technologies.


Write instruction manuals and technical papers.


Advise on course management and testing strategies, integration of media into curricula, and accessibility requirements.


Conduct or assist with training workshops and seminars on using course management technology. Develops and updates tutorials and online resources.


Other duties as assigned.
