Arizona Youth University at the University of Arizona, working with Black Rocket Productions, a rapidly-growing education company specializing in digital arts and S.T.E.M, is hiring Summer Teachers/Lead Instructors to teach various types of digital arts summer programs for K-12 students at University of Arizona Main Campus.

This is a temporary, seasonal position from June-July. Training begins in May 2014.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for supervision of student teaching assistant, equipment management, enforcement of site policies and meeting project deadlines.
  • Assumes primary responsibility for the safety, well being and education of students ages 8-17 participating in summer digital arts programs.

Arizona Board of Regents Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment; OR, four years of progressively responsible instructional or subject work experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.

Additional Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of the course concepts being taught, as well as familiarity with techniques and software involved.
  • Demonstrates love of learning and enthusiasm for working with children.
  • Excellent classroom management skills
  • Upon completion of Black Rocket training program, must demonstrate competency in the core concepts and software used.
  • Strong experience with technology
  • Certified teacher in the State of Arizona
  • Ability to communicate effectively
