The Department of Biology at Farmingdale State College invites applications for a tenure track Instructional Support Technician in Cell and Molecular Biology. Requirements for the position are a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, experience in laboratory research procedures in cell and Molecular Biology (minimum of 3 years), and experience in the preparation of materials for instructional laboratories in Cell and Molecular Biology (minimum of 3 years), Laboratory preparation experience in Microbiology and Genetics is preferred. Responsibilities will include planning laboratory schedules in consultation with faculty, preparing and setting up instructional laboratory materials and equipment as needed for departmental courses, maintenance and storage of living materials as needed, following approved disposal practices, maintaining laboratory safety, preparing requisitions for needed supplies, and communicating with vendors.
REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in Biology; prior 3 years experience in laboratory research procedures in Cell and Molecular Biology; prior 3 years experience in instructional laboratory preparation in Cell and Molecular Biology.
PREFERRED: Instructional laboratory preparation experience in Genetics and Microbiology; preparing requisitions for needed supplies.
This is a full-time position.
