Description of Position: Instructor/Lecturer
position, beginning Fall 2013 semester for the SIU Teacher Education Program,
instructing pre-service teachers, maintaining unit assessment system (Livetext),
and related capstone portfolio processes.
Responsibilities of the Position: The following pre-service teacher
education responsibilities (supervising and teaching) are conducted through the
College of Education and Human Services, Office of Teacher Education.
Conduct Livetext training(s) with program faculty
Assessment System and Livetext Coordinator.
Teacher Education 301, 302 on a rotating basis with
other clinical faculty.
Schedule capstone training(s) and capstone
presentations every semester.
Serve as liaison with the Office of Teacher
Education and the Unit Accrediting Coordinating Council.
Other duties as assigned.
The rank of Instructor requires a completed Master's
degree in education or a related field. The rank of Lecturer requires a
doctorate in education or a related field.
A minimum of five years of successful teaching
experiences at the elementary, middle school, and/or secondary level.
A minimum of five years administrative experience at
the elementary, middle school, and/or secondary level.
Preference will be given to applicants demonstrating
a. Professional involvement with several different grades levels and
curricular areas with an emphasis on educational technology.
b. Evidence of a record building and maintaining strong relationships with
c. Knowledge of ISBE rules and regulations.
d. K-12 Certification in the State of Illinois.
e. Experience with Livetext and/or web applications involving rubrics and
Appointment and Salary: Appointment will be
a term, non-tenure track position beginning with Fall 2013. Salary is based on
qualifications and experience.
