The University at Buffalo Educational Opportunity Center, an adult education enterprise, of the State University of New York, University Center for Academic and Workforce Development is seeking qualified candidates possessing experience teaching pre-collegiate adult learners. The mission of the UB/EOC is to provide an educational and personal growth experience to a culturally diverse, economically disadvantaged and underserved population of adult students that equips and empowers them to achieve their academic and occupational goals. UB/EOC is seeking an individual to provide instruction in the Electronic Health Records Program. Adjunct instructors report to the UB/EOC Director of Instructional Services.
A bachelor's degree in relevant area and 3 years' experience teaching adult students is required. Candidates possessing a bachelor's degree with occupationally specific certifications or licenses and 5 years' experience providing classroom instruction or professional training within their profession will be considered to have met the preferred qualifications. Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate their ability to enhance competencies through effective teaching techniques in conversational Spanish delivered to adult students. Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate knowledge of clinical and common patient care terminology encountered in settings such as hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities and diagnostic laboratories.
