Lamar University’s Mary Morgan Moore Department of Music seeks an Instructor of Voice to teach applied instruction, diction, and class voice. The successful candidate is expected to maintain and develop a successful studio and participate in university, college and departmental service. Additional responsibilities will be assigned according to the candidate’s talents and abilities. All voice types are encouraged to apply. Preference may be given to tenors or mezzo-sopranos.
Teach applied voice, diction, possibly class voice or other courses relative to the candidate’s strengths and abilities. Faculty duties, including advising, development of the program, recruitment, creative/scholarly activity and service contributions for a university faculty member are expected.
This is a full-time, non-tenure track position.
The Mary Morgan Moore Department of music is a comprehensive department within the College of Fine Arts and Communication. An important and vital link to the university and the community, the Music Department has 15 full-time and 13 part-time faculty members. The department offers the Bachelor of Music degree in music education, performance, composition; the Bachelor of Arts degree, the Bachelor of Arts in Music Business, and Master of Music degrees in music education and performance.
Master’s degree is required with a strong performance background and teaching experience at the college level.
